Simon Kokkinakis, MD, FACOG, began his term as President of the Medical Staff for Richmond University Medical Center on July 1,2026.
A board-certified fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, Dr. Kokkinakis received his undergraduate degree from New York University. He then spent two years at the Mount Sinai Medical Center researching the effects of thrombin. He went on to complete his medical training at the Ross University School of Medicine, where he graduated with honors. Dr. Kokkinakis completed his obstetrical and gynecological training at the Women and Children’s Hospital of Buffalo during which time he was a clinical assistant instructor at the State University of New York at Buffalo, School of Medicine and Biomedical Science. Dr. Kokkinakis is also a certified da Vinci robotic surgeon and performs many laparoscopic procedures robotically.
Since completing his post-doctoral training, Dr. Kokkinakis has been involved in private practice and training residents at the Richmond University Medical Center. Dr. Kokkinakis is also a clinical assistant professor at the New York Medical College in Valhalla, NY.
Dr. Kokkinakis and his wife have three children. He is fluent in English, Greek, and Spanish.
