Dr. Sujoy Menon

Interim Chief Medical Officer

Dr. Sujoy Menon was appointed Interim Chief Medical Officer of Richmond University Medical Center in August 2026. He also serves as Chair of the Department of Radiology and Director of the ACGME-accredited Radiology Residency Program, roles he has held since 2022 and continues to maintain in addition to his responsibilities as Interim Chief Medical Officer.

An accomplished physician executive, Dr. Menon brings extensive experience in clinical leadership, healthcare operations, quality improvement, and physician engagement. In his leadership roles at RUMC, he oversees clinical operations, quality and patient safety initiatives, peer review, capital planning, information technology, and the management of the hospital’s radiology services. He has played a key role in aligning strategic priorities with governance, workflow design, and physician incentives, helping drive organizational performance and clinical excellence.

Throughout his career, Dr. Menon has led major service line transformations, capital expansion projects, reimbursement optimization initiatives, value analysis programs, accreditation efforts, and multi-hospital physician staffing models. His expertise spans both clinical and administrative leadership, with a focus on improving quality, efficiency, and patient outcomes.

Before pursuing medicine, Dr. Menon led informatics and technology integration initiatives at Bristol-Myers Squibb and Schering-Plough (now Merck), supporting pharmaceutical research and development, change management, digital health, and enterprise technology programs.

Dr. Menon earned his medical degree from Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, an MBA from the Cornell University Johnson Graduate School of Management, and a Master of Arts in Medical Informatics from Columbia University.
