RUMC is designated by MBSAQIP (Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Accreditation and Quality Improvement Program) with Obesity medicine qualifications, having met rigorous standards for providing non-surgical medically supervised obesity care, in addition to bariatric surgery services. Our comprehensive medical weight loss program is personalized and medically guided to address the unique needs of each patient. Key features include:

  • Medical Assessment: After your procedure, the bariatric surgery team will provide you with a comprehensive dietary check list to follow for the first month after surgery and beyond. Support will be provided from a registered dietician. Vitamin and mineral supplements will need to be taken daily for life following surgery.
  • Personalized nutrition plans: Including consultation with registered dieticians
  • Exercise guidance: Customized physical activity plans based on fitness level and medical condition
  • Behavioral and Psychological Support: Counseling, support groups and referral to licensed behavioral health specialists
  • Medication: Weight loss medications may be prescribed to support progress
  • On-going monitoring: Regular check-ins and adjustments to plan to ensure continued progress and long-term success.
