Caring for Children. Supporting Families. Building Brighter Futures.

When a child or adolescent is struggling emotionally, behaviorally, or developmentally, it can affect the entire family. At Richmond University Medical Center, we believe every child deserves compassionate, expert care—and every family deserves support, understanding, vand hope.

Our children’s and adolescent behavioral health programs are strengthened by the full integration of the Staten Island Mental Health Society as a division of RUMC. This partnership, which began in 2019, brings together decades of trusted community‑based care with the resources of Staten Island’s most experienced behavioral health system, creating a seamless network of advanced services for children, adolescents, and families.

Through outpatient therapy, early childhood and developmental services, family and community support programs, and specialized educational initiatives—including the nation’s first hospital‑based Head Start program—our dedicated team of licensed therapists, counselors, physicians, and board‑certified psychiatrists works closely with families to help children grow, heal, and thrive.
