Dr. Sheynshteyn is an endocrinologist at Richmond University Medical Center (RUMC), board certified in internal medicine and endocrinology. He graduated from Hunter College cum laude with bachelor’s degree in biochemistry and art history.
After taking time to travel and search for the best way to continue his education, he discovered the osteopathic approach to medicine. In this approach, the body is treated as a whole and treatment is based upon understanding the relationship between structure, function, and the body’s ability to self-regulate and heal.
He enrolled in the New York Institute of Technology College of Osteopathic Medicine to pursue a career in medicine and further explore this philosophy. After graduating medical school, he completed his residency training in the New York Presbyterian Hospital system. He stayed on, as faculty, in the New York Presbyterian system, working in acute inpatient settings. He then pursued further training in endocrinology, diabetes, and metabolism, completing his fellowship.
Dr. Sheynshteyn is passionate about his work. He believes in an integrative approach to medicine, in the ability to listen and provide appropriate treatment, and in supporting and providing education to his patients.
