Dr. Jay M. Nfonoyim, MD, MPA, FACP, FCCP, CPE
Program Director, Chief of Critical Care, Chief of Critical Care, Adjunct Professor of Medicine
Dr. Jay M. Nfonoyim is a graduate of our Internal Medicine Residency Program (1990) and completed fellowship training in Intensive Care Medicine at Mount Sinai. He went on to serve as Director of the Surgical Trauma ICU at Elmhurst Hospital Center and Assistant Professor of Surgery at Mount Sinai School of Medicine.
He returned to St. Vincent’s Hospital Catholic Medical Center (SVCMC) to lead the Intensive Care Unit and has been an integral part of resident education ever since. In July 2003, he was appointed Associate Program Director, and now serves as Program Director of the Internal Medicine Residency Program.
Dr. Anum Humayun, MD, MBA
Associate Program Director, Assistant Professor of Clinical Medicine

Dr. Anum Humayun is board-certified in Internal Medicine She is a proud native of Staten Island and completed her Internal Medicine Residency in 2022, where she distinguished herself as Chief Quality Resident and led multiple quality improvement initiatives.
Following residency, Dr. Humayun joined Richmond University Medical Center as an Internal Medicine attending physician and hospitalist. She later advanced to the role of Associate Program Director for the Internal Medicine Residency Program, where she plays a key role in medical education, mentorship, and resident development.
Deeply committed to advancing medical education and patient care, Dr. Humayun combines her clinical expertise with a strong background in leadership and healthcare administration. In addition to her medical training, she holds an MBA in Healthcare Administration.
Dr. Suzy Bibawy, MD
Associate Program Director, Assistant Professor of Clinical Medicine, and Medical Director of RUMC Ambulatory Clinic

Dr. Suzy Bibawy earned her medical degree from Cairo University in 1982 and practiced as an internist in Egypt until immigrating to the United States in 1993.
Dr. Bibawy completed her Internal Medicine residency at St. Vincent’s Hospital, Staten Island in 1998 and subsequently joined the faculty as an attending physician. In 2000 she was appointed Medical Director of the Alcohol and Chemical Dependency Units at Bayley Seton Hospital (then affiliated with St. Vincent’s).
Dr. Bibawy is Board-certified in Internal Medicine and Addiction Medicine and she led the addiction medicine services for 15 years before assuming leadership of ambulatory care at RUMC and later taking on the role of Associate Program Director for the Internal Medicine residency program.
