Loren Harris, MD, FACS, FCCP, received his medical degree from the New York University School of Medicine in 1987, where he graduated in the top 10 percent of his class and was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society. He then completed his training in General and Cardiothoracic Surgery at New York University Medical Center and has been in clinical practice for over 20 years. He specializes in minimally invasive surgery using the latest robotic techniques for both benign and malignant diseases of the lung, esophagus, and mediastinum, which reduce post-operative pain and hospital stay while improving overall outcomes.
Alexander Barkan, MD, MBA, FACS, FASMBS

Alexander Barkan, MD, MBA, FACS, FASMBS, is a board-certified general surgeon who received his medical degree from St. Georges School of Medicine. He completed his general surgery residency at Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn and went on to receive his fellowship training in minimally invasive surgery as well as laparoscopic and robotic surgery. He has been practicing for 15 years. In addition to performing the full spectrum of general surgery, his specialties include bariatric surgery. Dr. Barkan has performed thousands of bariatric surgery procedures since entering the field of weight loss surgery in 2006. Dr. Barkan has also developed several cutting-edge procedures including robotic surgeries. He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a Fellow of the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery. He also holds a master’s degree in Business Administration.
