Dr. Gottesman graduated from Queens College/CUNY cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in history and a minor in Jewish Studies. He earned a Doctor of Medicine degree from Albert Einstein College of Medicine in the Bronx, NY, and completed his residency and chief residency in internal medicine on Staten Island.
He served on the leadership committee of the Society of Hospital Medicine and is a Senior Fellow of the Society. He is also a Fellow of the American College of Physicians and a member of the American Geriatrics Society and Association of Clinical Documentation Improvement Specialists. His pro bono activities include serving on the board of the Rabbi Jacob Joseph School of Staten Island and volunteering with the Hebrew Free Burial Association at Mount Richmond Cemetery.
