Prescription Drug Coverage
Employees are automatically enrolled in the prescription drug coverage plan when they enroll in the medical plan. We offer a three-tier prescription plan for generic, formulary and brand name prescription medication.
Vision Coverage
Employees are automatically enrolled in our vision coverage plan when they elect the medical coverage. The vision plan is through EyeMed Vision Care.

- Empire Blue Exclusive Provider Organization (EPO)
- Empire Blue Choice Point of Service (POS II)
Life Insurance Coverage
RUMC provides you Basic Term Life Insurance and Accidental Death and Dismemberment (AD&D) insurance at no cost to you.
Short Term Disability (STD)
Short Term Disability is provided to the employees as part of your benefit plan.
Long-Term Disability Benefits
RUMC provides Long-Term Disability coverage at no cost to employees. This benefit is paid after you are determined disabled by the insurance carrier for more than 180 days. You may also purchase LTD Buy-up coverage if you’re eligible.
Retirement Plan
RUMC provides a defined contribution retirement plan to our eligible employees annually. Contributions are solely funded by RUMC. There is no employee contribution required.
Tuition Reimbursement
Our program offers eligible employees reimbursement for credits toward a bachelor’s or master’s degree related to your career at the Medical Center per hospital policy.
Optional Benefits
Tax-deferred Annuity Plan (403B)
A tax-deferred annuity plan is an individual retirement savings plan that allows employees to save additional money for retirement on a pre-tax basis.
Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA)
RUMC allows employees to set aside dollars on a pre-tax basis to pay for certain health care expenses or dependent care.
Represented Employees
Many of our employees are members of Local 30 International Union of Operating Engineers, 1199 SEIU and the New York State Nurses Association (NYSNA).
