Operating Room

The Operating Room suite consists of 11 operating rooms and one cysto suite. The yearly volume of surgical cases is approximately 10,000, which includes both ambulatory and inpatient surgeries. All categories of surgeries are performed at RUMC, except for open heart, with an emphasis on Orthopedics/Sports Medicine. Total joint surgeries include gender-specific knee replacements and minimally invasive hip replacements. In the GYN surgical service, RUMC not only performs the most elective laparoscopic surgeries, but the most laparoscopic management of early gynecological cancer surgeries than anywhere else on Staten Island.
