Dr. Richard A. Fazio has been in private practice for over 40 years, with offices in both Staten Island and Brooklyn. His philosophy is to achieve and maintain the highest standards of practice in order to best manage his patients’ care with the latest treatment modalities. He is a clinical professor of medicine at SUNY Downstate and an assistant clinical professor of medicine at New York Medical college. He is a Fellow member of the American College of Physicians (FACP), the American College of Gastroenterology (FACG) and the New York Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (NYSGEF). He also holds memberships in the American Gastroenterological Association (AGA), the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ASGE), the American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases (AASLD), the American Medical Society (AMA) and the Richmond County Medical Society.
Dr. Fazio earned his Medical Doctorate degree from the University Di Bologna in Bologna, Italy. He then went on to complete his Internal Medicine residency at Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York. Dr. Fazio then completed his Gastroenterology fellowship at Saint Vincent Medical Center (Richmond University Medical Center) in Staten Island, New York. He has authored many publications, including some of the original case series on Candidal Esophagitis. He is consistently named a “Top Doctor” by Castle Connolly and a “Best Doctor” by New York Magazine. He is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in both Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology. He is affiliated with Richmond University Medical Center and Maimonides Medical Center.
