We are dedicated to guiding and supervising our residents’ professional and personal development as physicians in an environment which ensures safe and appropriate care for our patients.

In fulfilling our responsibilities, the Senior Management, Hospital Board and Faculty of Richmond University Medical Center (RUMC) are committed to supporting quality Graduate Medical Education programs and excellence in resident training and research.  The Organization has a commitment to provide adequate funding of Graduate Medical Education that ensures support of its faculty, residents, ancillary staff, facilities and educational resources to achieve this important mission.

A Message from Our DIO

As the Designated Institutional Official (DIO) of Richmond University Medical Center, I am responsible for overseeing the accreditation of all of RUMC’s sponsored graduate medical education programs.  We hold regularly scheduled Graduate Medical Education Committee (GMEC) meetings where all aspects of resident training and accreditation are discussed.  Residents regularly attend and participate in these GMEC meetings to promote transparency in all aspects of Graduate Medical Education as well as to facilitate the dissemination of information to all of the resident staff.

Residents are also included on many other Hospital-wide committees including Hospital-Wide Quality Committee, Patient Experience Committee, Resident Patient Safety Council, Pharmacy & Therapeutics Committee and others.

Please navigate through our website.  We hope it helps you to decide whether RUMC will be a good fit for you.

We welcome your application to Richmond University Medical Center for your Residency Program training.  We participate in the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP), and all of our positions are filled through this Program.  Please consider applying to our Programs through the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS).  We accept applications only through ERAS.

Applying for residency can be a stressful time.  Please feel free to contact us.  We are happy to assist with issues or problems big or small.  This does not end at the application process.  Our door is always open to residents in all the Programs.  Many of your concerns have simple solutions and we would be happy to assist either directly or by referral.

Good Luck in your pursuit of this wonderful profession.
