Radiation therapy uses high-energy radiation to damage the DNA of tumors and killing cancer cells. At RUMC, we use the state-of-the-art process called TomoTherapy. By combining the 3D scanning technology and intensity modulated radiation therapy, the direction and intensity of the radiation beam can be adjusted in real time allowing an accurate radiation while minimizing side effects.
